RIL Q1 net rises 32% to Rs 4,851 cr

Reliance Industries (RIL) today reported a 32.32 per cent rise in its net profit at Rs 4,851 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2010, beating estimates, helped by higher gas output from its fields off India’s east coast.

The company had a net profit of Rs 3,666 crore in the same period last fiscal, RIL said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

The net sales increased 86.70 per cent to Rs 58,228 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 31,187 crore in the same period last fiscal.
