  • India’s fiscal deficit from April to May was Rs 1.01 lakh crore ($21.7 billion), or 26.5 per cent of the full-year target, the government said in a statement on Wednesday.
  • Japan’s Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation today announced that it would invest Rs 1,366 crore for a 4.5 per cent stake in private sector lender Kotak Mahindra Bank.
